In Time of Heart Attack, 3 Patients With Acute Myocardial Infarction Were Provided With Medical Intervention at Dr. Suat GÜNSEL Kyrenia University Hospital

Instant successful intervention brought back to life
3 patients, who admitted to Dr. Suat GÜNSEL Kyrenia University Hospital with acute myocardial infarction (acute heart attack) within the last 2 weeks, were furnished with instant medical intervention at Angiography and interventional cardiology laboratory by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uğur COŞKUN and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Barış BUĞAN.

All three patients, who admitted to hospital with severe chest pain, were immediately referred to the angiography and interventional cardiology laboratory after the diagnosis. The occluded coronary arteries of the three patients were opened completely and successfully by deploying drug-eluting stents of the latest technology. One of the patients was 40 years old, the other was 41 years old and the third one was 65 years of age. The 40 year old patient’s heart was not beating and he was unconscious when he was admitted to the hospital. Defibrillation was done within minutes and the normal rhythm of the patient’s heart was restored by electric shock. Then the clots from the occluded arteries were extracted by using aspiration catheter and 3 drug-eluting stents were deployed in very long coronary lesions. All three patients were discharged on foot in three days in a fully recovered manner.

Equipped with the most advanced and the latest technological devices, Dr. Suat GÜNSEL Kyrenia University Hospital Interventional Cardiology and Angiography Laboratory offers 24/7 uninterrupted services for patients suffering from acute heart attack.
