However, studies show that regulation of individual diet and health applications decrease the rates of preventable diseases, disabilities and early deaths. Insufficient and unbalanced nutrition is directly related to the occurrence of some illnesses while being the indirect cause of some other diseases. Polyclinic Nutrition and Diet Services

The department of Nutrition and Diet prepares diet plans for each individual and aims to teach healthy nutrition or change the nutritional behaviours of people with health complications. Therefore, on the first examination, the eating habits of the individual are thoroughly inspected. First the fat, muscle, water levels and existing fat distribution of the body is detected of the patient or the person who wants to be consulted in nutrition; then a diet plan is prepared for each individual with the guidance of age, height, gender, physical activity, and blood findings and is regularly monitored.

Inpatient Nutrition and Diet Services

After the patient is admitted into service, the Department of Nutrition and Diet works with doctors and nurses as multidisciplinary and the nutrition programme specific to the patient and the illness is prepared and applied by the dietician. The condition of the patient’s nutrition is monitored every day in each visit, and both the patient and their carer are then informed about the stages of the diet. As the patient is being discharged, all the diet training is given in written or speech form if necessary. Enteral and parenteral nutrition is provided for the patients who need clinical nutrition.
