500 Children Applied to the Free Circumcision Call!

79 of the 500 children who applied to the social responsibility project launched by the Near East Enterprises for families earning minimum wage were circumcised over the weekend. The circumcisions will continue during the mid-term break between February 1-10.

The social responsibility project launched by the Near East Enterprises with the slogan “Three Hospitals, Entire Country: Let's Go Children, for Free Circumcision” attracted great interest. 500 children between the ages of 15 days and 10 years old applied to the social responsibility project carried out for children of families earning minimum wage. 79 children were circumcised on the first two days of the circumcisions that started in a great festive atmosphere at the Near East University Hospital, Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia University Hospital and Near East University Yeniboğaziçi Hospital over the weekend. The free circumcisions carried out within the scope of the Near East Enterprises' social responsibility project will continue during the mid-term break between February 1-10.

Circumcision procedures, meticulously performed under hygienic conditions and by expert healthcare teams, are performed by prioritizing the health and comfort of the children. The operations will continue to be performed by expert surgeons and healthcare personnel using modern medical methods and sterile conditions. In order to minimize the psychological impact on the children, families are informed before the operation and children are made to feel comfortable throughout the process.

An army of healthcare professionals is on the job!

The ongoing circumcision operations at Near East University Hospital, Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia University Hospital and Near East University Yeniboğaziçi Hospital are carried out by urology specialists Dr. Eralp Kubilay, Dr. Özgür Çetiner, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bindayı, Dr. Erol Uçaner, Dr. Necmi Bayraktar, Prof. Dr. Ali Ulvi Önder, Dr. Mehmet Selhanoğlu, Prof. Dr. Çetin Volkan Öztekin, Dr. Mustafa Kalfaoğlu and Dr. Mehmet Tuzlalı, as well as pediatric surgery specialists Dr. Emil Mammadov and Dr. Gönül Küçük.

Anesthesiologists Dr. Selmin Beşbaş, Dr. Feyza Yaycı, Dr. Onur Çeliksoy, Dr. Yeşim Taşeli, Dr. Arda Yaman, Dr. Meltem Tabuk, Dr. Selda Özden, Dr. Bülent Barış Güven and Dr. Serkan Suakıtıcı are also taking part in the circumcision procedures carried out in three hospitals with their teams. In addition, many health professionals in the operating room and emergency service teams of Near East University Hospital, Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia University Hospital and Near East University Yeniboğaziçi Hospital are working with great devotion to ensure that the circumcisions are performed smoothly.

Near East University Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Müjdat Salih Balkan, Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia University Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Naili Bulakbaşı and Near East University Yeniboğaziçi Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Aşkın Ali Korkmaz also presented the circumcised children with a “Certificate of Courage”. The families expressed their satisfaction with the organization of such a social responsibility project and thanked all healthcare professionals and the Near East Enterprises who contributed.
