Dr. Suat Günsel University of Kyrenia Faculty of Medicine has reached its Final Stage

AN AGREEMENT WITH SİEMENS OF 30 MILLION TL…
It was revealed that the opening speech of the press conference was made by the Member of Board of Trustees of University of Kyrenia, Tümer Garip, who gave information regarding new developments in the University of Kyrenia, and information on the building of the Dr. Suat Günsel Faculty of Medicine; which is expressed to be at its final stage of completion. Tümer GARİP stated that since the date of establishment of the University, which was three and a half years ago, and as a result of hard work, the university is now ready to begin the new academic year with 11 faculties, 3 vocational schools, and a total of 35 departments.

Furthermore, Tümer GARİP expressed that, at the foremost Faculties of Medicine and Health Sciences were ready to accept new students in the new academic year, alongside Faculties of Engineering, Law, Architecture and all other faculties of the University of Kyrenia. He added that the Dr. Suat Günsel Hospital will commence its health services on 15th November, 2016 and that the infrastructure of the hospital was equipped with the latest technologies from Siemens.

Moreover, GARİP stated that the University of Kyrenia had signed an agreement of 30 Million TL with Siemens, which will constitute a total of 50 Million TL agreement to be signed. In this regard, GARİP emphasised that through this agreement, new opportunities and hopes will be brought to the country due to latest technologies to be used in the field of health; all of which will be provided for the service of people on the island.

SİEMENS REPRESENTATIVE SONEMEL: “THIS IS THE BIGGEST ORDER THAT WE HAVE RECEIVED IN THE NEAR EAST REGION!”

Also making a speech, Siemens Imaging Country Manager, Enis Sonemel, stated that they as the company were rather excited to be part of this health project in Kyrenia and added that they were very proud to announce that all the technological imaging devices to be used at the Dr. Suat Günsel University of Kyrenia Hospital will be from Siemens.

In his speech, Enis Sonemel, provided detailed information on the devices to be as part of the infrastructure of the Hospital and pointed out that the imaging devices to be used at the Dr. Suat Günsel University of Kyrenia Hospital will be the first to be ever used in Cyprus. He also stressed that devices with such features and latest technology was not present in neither Turkey or in any other country in the nearest region!

AMONG THE FIRSTS TO BE PROVIDED FRO HEALTH WILL BE THE 3 TESLA MRI

SONEMEL gave information regarding the medical devices which will be provided at the hospital and said: “ 3 Tesla MRI, dual Source BT, Biplan AX, X-ray Devices (Mam, DR, Fluoroscopy, Mobile x-ray) and USG devices, are upper segment products, and are such latest technology that they will provide the best of health services to the people of Cyprus today and tomorrow.

Silent MRI, high channel neurological research, imaging with only a single beat of the heart with BT; tomosynthesis mammography system for early diagnosis of breast cancer; İplane AX systems for angiography; and USG systems for giving birth; all of which will be among the firsts to be provided in the field of health.”

LATEST TECHNOLOGY OF THE INFRASTRUCTURE WILL BRING THE FIRSTS TO THE COUNTRY…

Head of Department of Radiology, Prof. DR. Nail Bulakbaşı, expressed that they were aiming to get the Eurosafe Certificate which is given by the European Union (EU). He said: “With the opportunities offered by the latest technologies, the University of Kyrenia Hospital will not only be the ‘most technologically equipped’ hospital, but it will also be the “safest” hospital in the region.
