Dr. Suat Gunsel University of Kyrenia Hospital sponsored the 1st Kyrenia Marathon with their ambulance services for the whole day.

The income from the marathon with the slogan of; ‘’I AM RUNNING FOR YOU even though I do not know you’’ that will take place on the 8th of April 2018 will be donated to the Saraçoğlı Children with Leukaemia and Fight against Cancer Foundation.

A registration table was set up at the Dr. Suat Gunsel University of Kyrenia Hospital on the 3rd of April 2018 for the marathon that has both women and men categories of ‘’3, 7 and 21 kilometres’’ and that will start at Kyrenia Kordonboyu and end at the same place.59 people were registered to the 1st Kyrenia Marathon including many hospital and university personnel.
Dr. Suat Gunsel University of Kyrenia Hospital Head Physician Prof. Dr. Nail Bulakbaşı pointed out the importance of drawing attention to such sportive activities as a marathon which is at the forefront of a healthy lifestyle, and also stated that it was very special to provide financial and emotional support, through this activity, to such a foundation that work voluntarily to increase awareness on social responsibilities. Prof. Dr. Bulakbaşı stated that on behalf of the Dr. Suat Gunsel University of Kyrenia Hospital they were honoured to be able to support such a special event and thanked the hospital and university staff that were willing to take part in this event.
